Coastal Credit Union Music Park, initially Walnut Creek Amphitheatre, is an outdoor venue in Raleigh, North Carolina, designed for hosting substantial concerts. Part of a 77-acre complex near the I-40/US 64/I-440 interchange, it is set on the west bank of Walnut Creek, southeast of Raleigh. The amphitheater was constructed by the City of Raleigh with help from the private sector and cost $13.5 million to build, opening its doors on July 4, 1991, with a performance by the Connells. The venue, which can hold approximately 20,500 peopleー6,847 in seats, half of which are under cover, and an additional 13,653 on an open lawn—is managed by Live Nation Entertainment under a lease agreement with the city.
