Wardruna is a Norwegian band that got together in 2003 and has dedicated itself to creating music from the Norse culture, complete with esoteric traditions. They use instruments that are traditional to their culture, including flutes, mouth harps, goat horns, deer-hide drums, and others. They also utilize non-traditional instruments like rocks, water, torches, trees, and others. Wardruna has five albums, the first of which came out in 2013. In 2014, they helped to compose the score for Vikings, Season 2 and some of the members appeared on the show. Because of their success from the show, their third album in 2016 went number one on the World Albums charts, and the band was asked to headline an alternative, folk, and experimental music festival in Lithuania. In 2018, they toured North America for the first time. Their latest album, the sixth, came out in January.
